Every so often, I return to Times Square. In recent years, it has been cleaned up and “Disneyfied”. This is not necessarily a bad thing; after all, it is somewhat safer. But I do miss the grittiness and even the sleaziness that made “The Deuce” so interesting for so long. It has been transformed from a seedy neighborhood into a tourist destination.
