Hudson Yards used to be a train yard…and the entrance to the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. A place you didn’t walk around at night. Now, an entire new neighborhood continues to rise over the train tracks and area adjacent to the Javits Center on New York’s west side, a short walk from Penn Station and Times Square. Currently, there are businesses opening and commuters walking through the area, but not too many actual residents. As I edited recent photos I shot in the area, I realized that the story is how the architecture overwhelms the human scale. Was Hudson Yards overbuilt?
